positive feedback from our community. Many
families have told us that reading the magazine
helps them feel more connected to the PKD
community, and that has become even more
important now that the COVID-19 pandemic is
keeping a lot of us apart.
In this issue of PKD Life magazine, you'll read
about a very personal way that families in the
PKD community are choosing to commemorate
their unique connection to PKD-by getting one
or more tattoos. I know you'll find each of their
stories moving and uplifting.
Another uplifting story is our cover feature on
author, speaker, and YouTube host Lisa Baxter.
After years of denial about her own PKD, Baxter
has become a passionate and hardworking advocate for the PKD community. Her story provides

feeling defeated by their disease. Also in this
issue, you'll find helpful information about how to
talk to children about PKD, what you need to know
if PKD makes you unable to work, and the connection between cardiovascular disease and ADPKD.

our signature fundraising and public awareness
event, will be just wrapping up. Now in its 20th
year, the Walk has raised more than $33 million
for PKD research, but it's not too late to donate.
