Celebrating Our
38th Anniversary

Bruening founded the PKD Foundation on
August 20, 1982, to find treatments and a cure
for PKD. Their vision has been at the heart of
the Foundation's work ever since. When they
established the Foundation, no one knew
much about PKD. The genes had not yet been
identified, and very few researchers were
working in PKD science. Since then, the PKD
Foundation, based in Kansas City, Missouri, has
invested more than $50 million in research,
making us the largest private funder of PKD
research. As we approach our 38th anniversary
in August, we reflect on the incredible strides
we've made toward ending PKD.
