Know Where to
Go for Specialized
ADPKD Care
W hether you're facing a new
ADPKD diagnosis or you've been
managing the disease for years, one of
the biggest challenges is finding the
right healthcare providers. We saw a
need. So, on November 15, we launched
a program to help you find access to
next-level ADPKD care: the PKD Foundation's
Centers of Excellence and Partner
Clinic program.
For the first time, patients and families
know exactly where to go. The PKD
Foundation Centers of Excellence and
Partner Clinics is a national network of
providers meeting patient-centered,
specialized ADPKD care criteria established
by the Foundation.
The program's mission is to:
* Ensure better care for all people
with ADPKD.
* Understand ADPKD through research.
* Educate and empower the community.
After applying, institutions are
reviewed by a PKD Foundation expert
panel, including clinician and patient
stakeholders. Currently, there are
28 Centers of Excellence and 14 Partner
Clinics. We anticipate 30% growth
in Partner Clinics in our next round
of applications.
While we advance research and
push for a cure, we're also committed
to improving lives right now. In the
first eight months of this program,
we've received positive feedback from
the PKD community and increases in
patient referrals. Through this program,
we will continue to improve
access to specialized care so you
can manage your ADPKD the best
way possible.
