Richard Grossinger published a revised
version of his 1996 memoir New Moon, titled
New Moon: A Coming of Age Tale in September
2016 (See Bookshelf, p. 36) The new edition is a
deeper and more nuanced version of the book
and account of Richard's sometimes astonishing, always engaging personal story. Richard
writes: "I have been posting short segments
of New Moon on Facebook and recently have
done snapshots of my time at Horace Mann
and gotten a lot of 'sharings' and interest. The
early customer comments ... show that what I
attempted worked, something that the original
New Moon didn't elicit." Grossinger was also a
featured speaker on a Nov. 7, 2016 election-eve
discussion on "Healing the Election" at The
Alchemist's Kitchen in NYC.
tion to use during the High Holydays. Because
of the number of people who attend services
on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur the Central
Synagogue has, for years, held its High Holyday
services at Lincoln Center's David Geffen Hall.
The synagogue wanted to have something that
was distinctively theirs that would also fit the
space and environment of their temporary
Lincoln Center home, and turned to Brosk to
imagine and create these ceremonial pieces that
can also be used throughout the year. Jeffrey
explained how he made his vision into a reality
in an interview that appears here: http://www.
centralsynagogue.org/news/detail/centralsynagogues-new-portable-ark-q-a-with-artistjeffrey-brosk. Brosk, who received his master's
degree in architecture at MIT, has been creating
art since 1978. His work has been exhibited and
collected extensively, by such institutions as
the Evelyn H. Lauder Breast Center, Memorial
Sloan-Kettering, the Museum of Art and Design,
and the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston.

Roger Blakely writes "I'm now a Florida

Douglas (Doug) Schoen, a regular contributor to the Wall Street Journal, the Washington
Post and various other newspaper and online
publications, is also a Fox News contributor,
making frequent appearances on various
news programs. The author of 15 books, three
of his latest are noted in the Bookshelf section
of this issue on p. 40. Dr. Scott Camazine
wrote that his pursuits include "an eclectic,
hectic combination of work and play involving
such things as dermestid beetles chomping
on animal skulls, computer modeling, kayaking, chain-sawing, and making luxury coffee
and dining room tables from wood salvaged
locally." In 2016 Scott transitioned from
Urgent Care Medicine to treating patients with
narcotics addiction. In addition to treating
about 80 patients in his community, Scott
participated as an "expert" in a public radio
and television show that discussed the "Heroin
Crisis"-which he describes as "actually much
more a physician-created prescription narcotics crisis than a heroin issue." The program
can be seen here: https://wpsu.psu.edu/tv/
programs/conversationslive/revisiting-theheroin-crisis/. Robert Nussbaum, a frequent
contributor to The New York Times Letters
to the Editor section had a letter selected by
the newspaper as one of the 10 best letters of
2016. His letter, about Muhammed Ali, is at this
link: http://www.tooearlytocall.com/2016/12/
new-york-times-best-letters-of-2016.html. Bob
also reported that a letter he published in the
Times on Jan. 29, 2017, the first weekend of
President Donald J. Trump's Executive Order
regarding entry into the U.S. by Muslims from
seven countries, received the most responses
of the over 60 letters he has had published.
Nussbaum wrote "I may have been born in the
United States but this country has become foreign to me ... I no longer share its beliefs, I do
not countenance its actions ..." https://www.
