Among numerous other HMers at the wedding
were Logan's father Dr. Frank Lowe '70 and
uncles Jack Lowe '60 and George Lowe '66.
Logan graduated from Princeton. He is a partner at Prophet Capital, a hedge fund focused
on mortgage backed securities. His bride,
Sam, is a managing director at Solus Capital, a
hedge fund focused on distressed debt.

2005
Jamie Fuld Chesner and David Chesner '03

became the proud parents of Leighton Kaye
Chesner on July 28, 2016. A picture of their
beautiful daughter appears in the 2003 Class
Note listing.

Dr. Laura Perez Mayer was married to
Dr. Maxwell Mayer on September 17, 2016 in
Providence, RI. Dr. Laura Mayer is a graduate
of the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown
University and is now a resident in psychiatry
at Boston University School of Medicine, where
her husband is also a resident in psychiatry.
Kensho Watanabe

assistant conductor
of The Philadelphia
Orchestra, beginning
in the 2016-17

Steph Chou (www.
stephaniechoumusic.
com) was named one
of ten winners of the
2016 JFund, a music
composition grant
awarded by the
American Composers Forum with funds
provided by the Jerome Foundation. Selected
from among 150 applicants, the award
provides funding for emerging composers to
create a new work. Chou will create "Comfort
Girl," a 30-minute work for four musicians:
voice/saxophone, erhu/viola, percussion, and
piano. The project will culminate in the
premiere performance and masterclasses at
China Institute in America in NYC. Chou
described the project as "a musical exploration
of the forgotten voices of Comfort Women,
Asian victims abducted into sexual slavery by
the Japanese Army during WWII." The grant
includes composing a suite of new music,
making a studio recording, and performing in
NYC. "Comfort Girl" will explore a frequently
overlooked part of history through a musical
lens. Steph also released her third full-length
album Asymptote on January 14, 2017 in a
show presented in association with the China
Institute at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater.
Steph notes that "Asymptote features fresh
arrangements of Chinese classics including
'The Moon Represents My Heart' and
'Kangding Love Song,' a tongue-twister about
eating grapes, and songs influenced by my love
of mathematics and literature." The singersongwriter performed some of her new work
in appearances at HM during Unity Week in
January and Asia Night in January 2017 and
Music Week in February 2017.
A former producer on
the "Chelsea Lately
Show" Carly Kuhn
has become an
Instagram sensation
as "The Cartorialist"-
one of today's most
sought-after artists/illustrators. She has done
work for Dior, Capital Records, Prada, Elle and
many more, and has been featured in Vogue.
com, Refinery29, and WhoWhatWear. Kuhn was
named a "Smartist" by Amy Poehler's Smart
Girls organization which "is dedicated to

helping young people cultivate their authentic
selves." Living in Los Angeles, Kuhn is the Artist
in Residence for L.A.'s exciting new development ROW DTLA. She welcomes all to her space
where she hosts drawing workshops to assist
enthusiasts create their own artwork. You can

Dr. Hilary Haimes was married on
September 10, 2016 to Dr. Jonathan Salik. The
couple met at Amherst College, from which
they both graduated. Hilary is a second-year
pediatrics resident at Boston Children's
Hospital and received her medical degree
from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount
Sinai in N.Y. Her husband is a second-year resident in internal medicine at the Massachusetts
General Hospital in Boston.

completed a residency at Atelierund Galeriehaus
Defet in
Nuremberg as
recipient of the
da Vinci Artist
Residency and
the Hine Prize
