HM in Motion Campaign

A newly designed Upper Division Science Lab

! Strengthening Athletics - upgrading the venerable
Prettyman Gymnasium with refurbishments that will
maintain one of the school's historic structures while
increasing its capacity to serve the needs of students,
faculty, coaches, and spectators

The keystone of the plan is a three-story building, which
will house Upper Division Science and a campus center.
While the newly-constructed and renovated facilities will
be located on the north side of HM's Middle and Upper
Division Bronx campus, many aspects of the dramatically
improved physical plant will also benefit students and their
families at HM's Nursery and Lower Divisions.

"HM in Motion is not about new and improved buildings,
but about new opportunities for our students," said Colacino
as he and Dr. Kelly unveiled the plans, purpose and process
of this project.
"With a keen understanding of our present ... we're here
to introduce a dramatically re-envisioned Middle and Upper
Division campus," Dr. Kelly added. He further explained that
the Campaign's vision "takes into consideration the fact that
HM lives and breathes 24-7" with the academic, athletic, and
community-focused interests and aspirations of its students, and of the teachers who guide them.
"The initiative represents the thoughtful input of a
diverse group of Horace Mann School community members

A highlight of the HM in Motion launch event was the unveiling of a model of HM's future Middle and Upper Division campus.
