Glenn Danas shared the news that in January
2015 he "was made a partner at my law firm,
Capstone Law, APC in Los Angeles. In March
2015 I won a CLAY Award (California Lawyer
Attorney of the Year) in Employment Law."
Glenn, along with two Capstone colleagues,
won a California Supreme Court decision
invalidating employers' mandatory arbitration agreements that attempt to force
employees to waive claims under the Private
Attorneys General Act (PAGA). The CLAY
Award is among the most prestigious given to
California attorneys.

James Grimmelmann focuses his writing
on trying "to help lawyers and technologists
understand each other." Examples can be
found in articles on the Volkswagon emissions
reporting scandal, and on Facebook conducting user-based research. After teaching at
the University of Maryland School of Law he
will join the faculty of Cornell Tech in fall 2016
"as the first law professor in residence there,
living out my dream of collaborating directly
with computer scientists and information
scholars. Stage I will be helping launch
Cornell's new LLM program in Law, Technology
and Entrepreneurship." Dr. Jennifer Capla, a
plastic surgeon, is one of the few in her field
who is fellowship-trained in body contouring
after weight loss surgery. Her patients have
included contestants on the reality television
show "The Biggest Loser." In spring 2015 she
undertook her most challenging case ever:
spear-heading and performing excess skin
removal surgery on Paul Mason who was once
the world's heaviest man. Dr. Capla's work
was covered by the New York Times, CBS
News, the BBC and more. Mason's experience was covered on "The View" and was the
subject of a TLC special. http://www.nytimes.

Influential People." Describing her work with
Teach for America in New Orleans TIME editor
Walter Isaacson wrote: "... among the amazing
aspects of the comeback of New Orleans is the
reinvention of its school system...Kira Orange
Jones, a Bronx native, was one of the critical
engines of innovation. As Teach for America's
executive director in New Orleans, she attracted
educators from across the U.S. and developed
ways for reformers, community members and
veteran teachers to respect and learn from one
another. To preserve the reforms, she ran for
Louisiana's board of education and upset an
entrenched incumbent... Since 2005, the ontime graduation rate has gone from over 50%
to nearly 75%, the number going to college has
more than doubled, and New Orleans now outperforms cities like Chicago, Denver and Miami
on ACT tests." Anthony Ramirez II, John Martin
and Greig Bennett work together these days,
