First sAE AErospAcE stAndArds summit drAws top

The first SAE Aerospace Standards
Summit will be held July 7 - 8 at
the Crowne Plaza Old Town, in
Alexandria, Virginia.
Sponsored by SAE International and
titled "Emerging Technologies and
the Enabling Role of Standards,"
the event will bring together civil
and military regulators responsible
for certification, aerospace
industry leaders and subject matter experts to addresses critical technology
breakthroughs, and the standards and certification needed to bring new product
development to market in a timely manner.
The summit's keynote addresses on Tuesday, July 7, will be delivered by Dorenda
Baker, Director, Aircraft Certification Service, Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA), and James MacStravic, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Tactical
Warfare Systems, U.S. Department of Defense. The keynote presentations will
discuss the interaction of standards and regulations in order to enable successful
introduction of emerging technologies.
The keynote address on Wednesday, July 8 will be delivered by Lou Kratz,
Vice President and Managing Director, Logistics and Sustainment, Corporate
Engineering, Technology, and Operations, Lockheed Martin Corporation.
