A-5, A-6 committEEs to hold Joint FAll mEEting
The A-5 Aerospace landing gear systems committee and A-6 Aerospace Actuation,
control & Fluid power systems committee will hold a joint meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii,
October 26-30. The meeting will focus on the emerging Asian aerospace market, with
planned presentations by aerospace representatives from China, Korea and Japan.
This meeting celebrates the 100th Meeting of the A-5 committee and the 75th anniversary
of the A-6 committee.
In the spirit of SAE International to increase worldwide participation, since 1990's A-5 and
A-6 typically have held a meeting overseas every 4 years. In light of the current major
Aerospace business in Asia, and to encourage more Asian involvement in SAE Standards,
recent meeting location objectives were China, Korea or Japan but logistics and expense
appeared impractical so Honolulu has been chosen as a geographic mid-point. This choice
has already proved attractive with 6 presentations from Asia already planned for the
Symposium.
The keynote speaker will be dr. richard greaves, 2015 SAE President.
Two additional committee meetings - the AMS CE Elastomers committee and the AMS P
Polymeric Materials committee - will be held concurrently at the same location.

stAndArds committEEs support AircrAFt icing conFErEncE in prAguE
The SAE 2015 International Conference on Icing of Aircraft,
Engines, and Structures will be held June 22-25, 2015 at the Hotel
International Prague in Prague, Czech Republic.
The event, which provides a forum for the aerospace community
to meet and discuss the newest regulations governing aircraft
icing operations, is supported by these SAE Standards
Committees: Ac-9c - Aircraft icing technology committee;
Ac-9 - Aircraft Environmental systems committee; and g-12 Aircraft ground de-icing steering committee.

Governmental agencies will use the conference as a platform
to discuss critical studies and new developments in icing and
deicing standards. Patrick Ky, Executive Director of the European
Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), will be the conference's keynote
speaker. The event will also feature speakers from the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA), among other organizations.

EntErprisE inFormAtion mAnAgEmEnt And intEropErAbility committEE sEEks mEmbErs
The SAE Enterprise information management and
interoperability (Eimi) committee is seeking members to work
on developing standards, recommendations, and guidelines
for product and program data. Committee participants include
representatives from leading manufacturers, government, and
others across the global aerospace, commercial, and defense
industries.

Working with managers, data users and producers, the
committee creates process improvements and enterprise-wide
savings. It also works to ensure the authoritative data for each
action or decision is in the users' hands when needed, through
standard processes for data management. The committee
partners with stakeholders from IT, legal, and business
management throughout the enterprise for success.

Robust data management supports fact-based decisions, lowers
risk, and enables global interoperability. The committee improves
management and interoperability of data and information
through collaboration with the users, developers, and decision
makers in the aerospace and defense community.
