NEW AEROSPACE COUNCIL MEMBERS NAMED
Four new members have joined the SAE International
Aerospace Council, including the welcome addition of two
important industry organizations:

* ZHAO Bo, Vice President of Chinese Aeronautical
Establishment (CAE) and Director of AVIC China AeroPolytechnic Establishment (CAPE) replacing Gao Liwen.

* Dr. Vineet Sahasrabudhe, Director, Engineering Sciences at
the Sikorsky Aircraft Corp

Aerospace Council members are executives and leaders from
commercial, regional, general aviation, military, space, and
government organizations from around the world. The Council
ensures that the SAE aerospace standards development
program is well managed, progresses in a timely and efficient
manner, meets user needs, and avoids duplication of effort.

* Fernando Guimaraes, Senior Engineering Manager -
Advanced Design Engineering, Embraer S/A replacing

SAE PRESENTS AT AVIATION CYBERSECURITY WORKSHOP IN BRUSSELS
SAE International was among the standards developing
organizations (SDOs) participating in the "Workshop on
Cybersecurity in Aviation," organized by the European Aviation
Safety Agency (EASA) and EUROCAE on May 31 at the EASA
offices in Brussels.
The workshop, attended by more than 60 stakeholders from
industry, airspace users, governments, SDOs, and associations,
covered the need for future regulatory and standardization
activities that address cybersecurity.

During the workshop, David Alexander, SAE International
Director of Aerospace Standards, gave a presentation which
provided attendees with information on SAE's standards
activities in the field of cybersecurity, noting SAE standards,
publications and workforce development activities in the
automotive sector as well as in aerospace.

SAE STANDARDS PRESENT AT PARIS AIR SHOW
SAE International participated in the 2017 Paris Air Show,
held June 19-25 at Paris Le Bourget Exhibition Center.
Demonstrating SAE's active role in the European aerospace
industry, SAE had a booth at the show at which SAE Aerospace
Standards staff members conducted a number of meetings
with European and global aviation organizations and presented
the latest SAE activities in standards development, events, and
training programs.
David Alexander, SAE International Director of Aerospace
Standards, also met with media personnel to discuss SAE's
involvement in supporting the development of electric aircraft
through the SAE Electric Aircraft Steering Group and a number
of technical standards committees. He covered evolutions
in the field of "more electric aircraft," the implications of
creating hybrid or fully electric aircraft, the next steps, and the
corresponding technical and economic hurdles.
