The duration of initial prophylactic antibiotic therapy was significantly longer in the noncompliant group for initial antibiotic therapy and among those who received a secondary
antibiotic (P < .05 for both comparisons).

Secondary clinical outcomes did not significantly differ
between compliant and noncompliant groups (Table 3).
Further analysis was conducted to identify unique factors
present in 18.3% of patients who developed infections.
