Judith Kennedy
Poet/Therapist
Judith is a clinical therapist at
Samaritan Counseling Center. She has
worked in the field of mental health for 25
years. Her books, Salted Wakings and To
See in the Night were published in 2019
and during the pandemic year 2021 by
publishers Finishing Line and Orchard
Street. She co-wrote with Herb Landis,
LCSW, Landscapes of Grief and
Mourning: A Guide for the film, Death
Valley: A Love Story, based on the
journals of Carol Emerson, LCSW. Judith's work has appeared in
numerous literary journals. Judith participates in spoken word performances
with WriteFace, a support group for veterans, with poetry
inspired by, and excerpts from, her great-grandfather's, The Civil
War Diary of Sgt. Christian Lenker: 19th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.
She has also performed in the past with Theater of the Seventh
Sister. Judith sees journaling and the creative arts as resources for
processing trauma, storytelling and finding inspiration.
