2021 Silent Samaritan Endowment

The Silent Samaritan Endowment is a fund set aside for the long-term
benefit of the Silent Samaritan mission - Women Helping Women.
While the principal of the fund will remain invested in perpetuity - we
can use the income generated by the Endowment to support new and
expanded ways to support women.
This year, the income will be approximately $4,000 which will be
distributed in January 2022. Samaritan staff have submitted 3 program
ideas for consideration this year. If you are a Silent Samaritan
Endowment donor, you could vote for the program you would like to
support. Below is a brief description of each program. We will be
announcing the recipient of the funds during the luncheon. Thank you

SUPPORT FOR
WOMEN
CLERGY
Samaritan's Clergy and
Congregation Care program
actively supports women leaders in the congregations in our area. Two
specific means of support are through clergy groups and spiritual
direction. Clergy & Congregation Care offers support for women leaders
through its clergy groups. Clergy Groups are intentionally ecumenical
and facilitators are persons who have served as clergy and have
experience and training in facilitation. The groups provide collegiality,
support, encouragement and accountability in a safe environment. Some
women clergy find the individual sessions with a spiritual director a
much needed way of providing self-care. Spiritual direction sessions help
directees to be grounded in their own spiritual path and more integrated
in their ministry.
For $4,000, we would provide support for 15 women clergy for a full
year of clergy group meetings and/or provide 12 spiritual direction
sessions for up to 9 women clergy. By investing in the mental health of
congregational leaders, we further Samaritan's mission to build healthy
minds and strong communities.
