SEAHO FEATURE opportunity for growth in the areas of Assessment, Evaluation, and Research (AER), Law, Policy, and Governance (LPG), and Human and Organizational Resources (HOR). Additionally, because the entry point to the profession was not necessarily a higher education administration background, many colleagues were not able to articulate their knowledge of the historical and philosophical underpinnings of the profession. In response, the committee has and will continue to create developmental opportunities, focusing on each area of opportunity every month. As a department still in a period of transition, Virginia Tech HRL has taken great strides in maintaining a high standard of service to its students and academic partners. Still, there are many lessons remaining to be learned about serving our own department and colleagues by ensuring that they receive the best possible opportunities to grow professionally and challenge themselves. As we look forward, the committee has focused upon further developing the curriculum model and applying it to every aspect of the on-boarding process for our new professionals. The goal for the next academic year is to be able to present our newly acquired talent with a menu of options to strengthen their current practice, as well as build strong foundations for future careers. As Virginia Tech continues to innovate, the committee has no doubt that the department will rise to the expectations presented in the NASPA/ACPA Competencies. By building upon solid theory, Virginia Tech will continue to hold its position as a premier provider of educational programming within safe, clean, affordable communities of higher learning. And if you do not own an iPad - this list may convince you to buy one! 24 Tip # 1 - Never Say Never. The last thing you want to happen is for your iPad to go missing; follow these steps to make make sure you are prepared should it ever happen. Set up Find My iPad in case your iPad is ever lost or stolen. This app will allow you to locate it, display a message on it, and even remotely wipe it if needed.
