SEAHO Feature Articles Comparing the new RAs' scores of the post-assessment, most areas did change and they became more knowledgeable about their desk responsibilities and learned who to call while on duty. There were some small outliers for which about half the group did not get the correct answer for a question and those are some topics we are going to have to work on throughout the year. The confidence questions received increased positive responses, and demonstrated the students had more confidence in handling mental health situations and planning programs. Having this pre/post assessment did show that the new RAs were learning something, and their confidence was increasing by going through training. Looking at the returning RAs' pre/post assessment, it showed us a different perspective than the new RAs. While the new RAs scored low in some areas on the pre-assessment, which was the opposite for our returning RAs. Most of the returning RAs were able to get correct answers on the pre-assessment, since they had already been doing the job for at least a semester. For the confidence-related questions, those were mostly positive, though some returning RAs were still not as confident about handling mental health situation, but I think that is 17 SEAHO Report Fall 2019
