Georgia Updates

Barry College
Kendra Murphy was hired for the Area Coordinator
position for Berry College. She oversees Morgan /
Deerfield and Alternative Spaces.
Emory University
New Hires
Emory University is pleased to
welcome Sussy Botero VasquezPerez. Sussy joined Housing
Operations in April as Assistant
Director of Facilities and Operations.
Sussy holds a Bachelor's in
Advertising from the University of Florida. Her
previous positions include Facilities Manager at Agnes
Scott College, Director of Housekeeping at The Lovett
School, and Assistant Director of Housekeeping for
the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center.
Emory University is pleased to
welcome T.J. Greggs-Edwards. TJ
joined Housing Operations in July as
Assistant Director of Facilities and
Operations. TJ holds a Bachelor's
in Mathematics from Westminster
College. He served as a Graduate
Assistant at Slippery Rock University where he earned
a Master's in College Student Personnel. His previous
positions include Hall Director at State University
of New York at Buffalo, Area Coordinator at the
University of Central Florida, and Assistant Director
of Residence Life at Kennesaw State University.
Emory University is excited to welcome the newest
member to the Office of Residence Life team. Dr.
Linda Bachman is the new Associate Director of
Residential Education. Linda comes to Emory from
the University of Georgia, where most recently she
launched and directed the university-wide Experiential
Learning initiative, which focused on providing
faculty-mentored, beyond-the-classroom academic
experiences for all UGA undergraduates prior to
graduation.

Georgia State University
Georgia State University is happy to share our
newest staff members for 2019-2020 - Residence
Hall Directors (RHDs): Jolia Alexander, Terrence
Glaspy, Grace Wentworth, Gantt Thomas and
Heather Macon; Assistant Hall Directors (AHDs):
Chelsea Mason, Shannon Ashford, Jalesha TurnerDavis, and Jasmine Edwards; Graduate Assistants:
Jeremy Arrington, Haki Dennis, Brittany Pradere,
Mi'Chelle Willoughby and Dana Thomas; Custodian
I; Dequittle Bynum; Admin Specialist: Chastity
Bradford; and Coordinator, Equity, Diversity and
Inclusion: Kiersten Brydie.
Former RHDs at Georgia State, both Carla Green
and Andrew Kubas have assumed new roles as
Coordinator for Student Workforce Development and
Coordinator for Residential Operations, respectively.
Jonathan Jones and Marvin Mahan have assumed
new roles in maintenance; both previously served on
our custodial staff.
Additionally, Dr. Shannon Corey, Associate
Director for Residence Life has been named
Interim Director for University Housing. We
are excited to welcome our new staff and celebrate
the accomplishments of our staff who are in new
positions!
University of Georgia
Becki Bury has been hired as the new assistant
director for academic initiatives and student leadership
within University Housing. Bury currently serves as a
residence hall director in East Campus Village and has
been a member of the University Housing team since
March, 2017. Prior to her time at UGA, Becki served
as a hall director at the University of Kentucky and as
an assistant residence life coordinator at the University
of South Carolina. Becki brings to her new position a
wealth of knowledge and experience in working with
Living Learning communities as well as significant
experience working within a residential curriculum at
institutions similar to the University of Georgia.
