Student Affairs around the Region
Mississippi Updates Cont.
Mississippi State University
Mississippi State University welcomed 5 new
full-time Community Directors to our team between
July and October. We would like to welcome Molly
Thome, Billy Trahan, Isaac Lias Jr., Stephanie
Hill, Zach Agee, and Dominique Simmons to our
Community Director team!
We also have added 3 new graduate Residence
Directors- Dylan Johnson, Anthony Nel, and April
Yazza.
Mississippi State is in the process of restructuring
within the department. We will be posting 3 Assistant
Director for Residence Life positions in the near
future. We also hope to post an Assistant Director for
Occupancy Management as well.
Mississippi State Residence Hall Association will
host its annual Haunted House October 29th-31st.
Haunted Rice Hall is an annual fundraiser that RHA
uses to give back to the surrounding community. All
proceeds from the Haunted House goes directly into
our community to support organizations like the Boys
and Girls Club, Habitat for Humanity, and local soup
kitchens.
Mr. Christopher Moon was recently awarded the
Rising Star Award for a new professional from the
NASPA Mississippi Awards. Mr. Biko Fisher was
recently awarded the Future Student Affairs Leader
Award for a graduate student from the NASPA
Mississippi Awards
The University of Mississippi
The Department of Student Housing at Ole Miss
would like to welcome Abigail Justice as the new
Assistant Director for Marketing. Abigail began her
role in September 2019.
State Association
The Mississippi Association of Housing Officers
Annual Conference will be hosted at Jackson State
University this year. The conference will take place
on November 12-14, 2019. MAHO is currently taking
registration, program proposals, award and executive
