North Caroline Updates Cont.

Mars Hill University
New Staff Members
Shannon Coleman was serving as the Associate
Director of First Year Experience and Residence Life.
With the recent promotion of Dr. Howard, Shannon
Coleman has been promoted to serve as the Director
of Residence Life. Previously, Shannon was the
Associate Director of Housing and Residence Life
at USC Upstate. She completed her Undergraduate
degree at USC Upstate and her Master's degree
from Kaplan University in Higher Education
Administration.
Sakinna Richardson is our new Residence Life
Coordinator for the First-Year Experience. In her role,
she provides oversight to the first-year residential
experience at MHU. Sakinna is a recent Mars Hill
graduate and is currently in pursuit of her Master's
degree.
Dr. DeAndre Howard has been named the new
Associate Vice President for Student Life and Dean of

Students. Dr. Howard formerly served as the Director
of Housing and Residence Life. Dr. Howard also
serves as the NC State Rep for SEAHO.
Mars Hill University welcomed its new Vice
President for Student Life, Dr. Dave Rozeboom, in
August. Dr. Boom, as he's known by students, joins
the Mars Hill family from Hardin-Simmons University
in Abilene, Texas.
Queens University of Charolette
María del Carmen Flores-Mills, a renowned
student advocate and engagement leader for more
than two decades, has been named Vice President of
Student Engagement and Dean of Students at Queens
University of Charlotte. The newly-created position
encompasses health and wellness; diversity, inclusion
and community engagement; student engagement; and
residence life and housing. Prior to joining Queens,
Flores-Mills led student and campus programming
teams at Princeton University, Colgate University,
DePauw University and Franklin & Marshall College.
