North Carolina Updates
Mars Hill University
We have great things happening with our staff at
Mars Hill University:
Jerel McDaniel, our Assistant Director of Residence
Life, has been accepted into the RELI 2019 cohort.
Kevin Trudell, our Assistant Director of Housing,
has been accepted into the Doctor of Education at
Western Carolina University. Kevin will be studying
Educational Leadership with a concentration in
University Leadership.
Please join us in celebrating Kevin and Jerel on their
recent accomplishments!
We are finishing up new construction on a 20,000
square foot athletic field house. Our students are
very excited about this new addition to the campus
community.
Finally, Henry Haywood, our new Director of
Facilities Management, recently re- joined the
university family. Henry is returning to MHU, having
served in this role from 1998-2004, as well as in
similar positions with three other colleges. Henry
has a broad and lengthy background in facilities
management and we are excited to have him back with
us.

University of South Carolina Upstate
Housing and Residential Life (HRL) welcomes new
staff member Julie McMahon who will serve as the
Director for Housing and Residential Life. We are
excited to have Julie in our Upstate Spartan Family!
Coastal Carolina University
Amanda Speiser is the new Assistant Director
for University Place joining us from Illinois State
University.
Kaitlin Nash is the new Assistant Director for
Elvington Loop joining us from Texas Christian
University.
Will Taylor is the new Community Coordinator for
Sandhills joining us from Stony Brook University.
Alex Drose is the new Community Coordinator
for Chanticleer Hall joining us from the College of
Charleston.
Joey Dessino is the new Community Coordinator
for Pat Singleton-Young Hall joining us from Western
New Mexico University.
