Georgia Updates cont.
Emory University
Chelsea Appiah completed
her undergraduate degree at
Miami University in Oxford,
OH receiving a B.A. in English/
Professional Writing and
Women's, Gender, and Sexuality
studies. After leaving Miami,
Chelsea served as a full-time
Community Coordinator at the
University of Cincinnati in Resident, Education, &
Development. After working full time, she attended
The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH where
she is receiving her M.A. in Higher Education and
Student Affairs this May. During her two years at
OSU, she has served as an Assistant Hall Director in
Residence Life. Chelsea is a Columbus, OH native but
also calls Ghana in West Africa home as the daughter
of two Ghanaian immigrants. She enjoys staying
active, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her
loved ones. Chelsea is passionate about social justice
issues and working with students. She is a Spring
2014 intimate of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She
is looking forward to becoming a part of the Emory
community. She will be working with LongstreetMeans Hall.
Cedric Blatch was born in
Springfield, Massachusetts
and raised in Tampa, Florida.
He graduated from Saint Leo
University with a Bachelor's
degree in English-Professional
Writing and a minor in Communications in 2017. At
Saint Leo University, he served as a Resident Assistant
for two years, a mentor and a Resident Assistant
Director. Cedric completed his Master Degree
in College Student Affairs at Nova Southeastern
University down in Fort Lauderdale, FL. While at
NSU Cedric has worked with Orientation and Student
Leadership. He is excited to return to Residence Life
and insert himself within the Emory community. He
will be working with the Alabama and Dobbs Halls
communities.

Jake Horvath received a
Bachelor of Science degree in
Public Health from The Ohio
State University in 2017. He
recently graduated from Emory
University Rollins School of
Public Health with a Master of
Public Health - concentrating
in Behavioral Sciences and Health Education. During
both his undergraduate and graduate education Jake
remained active in Residence Life, with previous
experience as a Resident Advisor and Fraternity House
Director. Jake is particularly interested in the firstyear experience, crisis response and intervention, and
mental health; and, he hopes to further combine his
passion for student affairs and public health within
Residence Life. In his free time, Jake enjoys spending
time with friends, exploring Atlanta, and playing with
puppies. He will be working with the Complex Hall.
Georgia Southern University
Georgia Southern University is proud to announce our
new staff members and changes on the Armstrong and
Statesboro campuses as we prepare for a great year
across our University's campuses!
Armstrong Campus
We are excited to welcome new Eagles to the
Armstrong campus at Georgia Southern. Jenna
Sutphin joins the Eagle family, in her first
professional role, as a Resident Director of our
Apartment Communities. Jenna recently earned
his Master's from Slippery Rock University in
Pennsylvania, and is re-joining us as part of SEAHO
after her undergraduate work at Clemson University
Kellianne Curley is joining the staff as a Graduate
Resident Director in the Apartment Communities. She
most recently completed her undergraduate experience
at Salisbury University in Maryland.
Domonick Pitts will serve as the Resident Director
for the Windward Commons community. Dom most
recently served as an RD for three years on the
