STUDENT AFFAIRS AROUND THE REGION

GEORGIA UPDATES
Georgia Southern University
We want to give a HUGE shout out to the Georgia
Southern University Housing team on both the
Statesboro and Armstrong campuses for coordinating
a socially distanced move out for over 4,500 students
over the course of four days! The University System
of Georgia office commented specifically on how well
done our move out plan was, stating it would be shared
with others around the state as a template to use!
Additionally, we were given praise for how smoothly
our move out process went by both University
leadership as well as the System office. This could not
have happened without the hard work of our Housing
staff in conjunction with over 100 campus partners
who helped make this process happen. We are so
grateful to have a team who is committed to serving
our students! - The University Housing Leadership
Team (Pete Blutreich, Meg Heins, Ryan Heins, Nick
Shrader).
Kennesaw State University
Congratulations to Christopher Bruno who was
promoted to Director of Customer Service and
Operations in April 2020.
Congratulations to Dr. Christina Ujj who completed
her doctoral degree in May 2020 from the University
of Georgia Student Affairs Leadership Program. Dr. Ujj
serves as the associate director of residential education
at KSU.
Vendors/New Construction:
KSU acquired CSC Service Works as our new laundry
vendor beginning January 2020.
KSU is in the process of a new 500 unit housing
construction project slated to open fall 2022.

FLORIDA UPDATES

Florida Gulf Coast University
FGCU is welcoming three new residence directors to
their campus this summer. The Office of Housing and
Residence Life cannot wait to work with these newest
eagles!
Katie DeWall is a new Resident Director in the Glades
neighborhood at North Lake Village. She attended the
University of Central Florida for her undergraduate
degree and Florida State University for her masters
degree.
Jillian Epperson will be working alongside Katie in
North Lake Village as the new Resident Director for the

Groves neighborhood. Jillian attended Elon University
for both her bachelors and masters degree.
Emma Cipriani is the last new Resident Director in the
Everglades community in South Village. She attended
Lasell College in Newton, MA for her undergraduate
degree and the University of Rhode Island for her
masters degree.
In addition to the new staff, FGCU is implementing
their brand new residential curriculum this fall. Krystal
Muckle, Assistant Director of Academic Initiatives and
Assessment, has led the charge and done a fabulous job
in preparation for this fall. The Office of Housing and
Residence Life is excited about all of these changes for
the upcoming academic year.
Stetson University
Residential Living & Learning welcomed two new staff
members this summer: Krystal Loh joined our team
as our new Coordinator for Assignment Processes and
Communications. Manal Ammagui joined our team as
our new Residential Life Coordinator for the West area. 
University of Miami
The University of Miami would like to welcome our
new Area Directors, Joshua Scroggins and Ricardo
lewin. Joshua comes to us from Eastern Washington
University and Ricardo comes to us from Georgia State
University! We are so happy to welcome them to our
team and to our State!  
University of Tampa
The University Of Tampa Office Of Residence Life is
proud to announce two new staff members:
Amber Myer will be joining as the Associate Director
of Residential Education. The Associate Director of
Residential Education who will contribute to student
learning by overseeing Spartan Living residential
curriculum, living-learning communities, and
departmental assessment efforts. Amber currently
serves as the Coordinator of Student Competency
Development Programs in the Office of Student
Leadership and Engagement. In this role she works
to infuse Spartan Ready® competency development
campus-wide and manages Spartan Ready®
programming including skillshops and Quest to
Spartan Ready®. She works to develop Spartan
Ready® to Work, a campus-wide student employment
paradigm, including student employee supervisor
development. She also oversees Spartan Ready®
Fellows and the Spartan Mentor program. Prior to
working at the University of Tampa, Amber earned
a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction
