relies heavily on increasing our outreach to showcase the benefit of our network and resources. SEAHOs' vision
is to be " the leading resource for the higher education housing industry in the southeast " and I would love the
opportunity to help move our organization forward through the Director of Communications position. Thank
you for considering my candidacy for this position.
With SEAHO love,

Greetings, SEAHO. It is an honor to be nominated as a candidate for SEAHO's
Director of Communications. This association is near and dear to my heart. My
own professional growth, development, and successes are connected directly
to this association. It is my hope I can continue serving the association as an
opportunity to pay it forward to future and present members.
I learned about SEAHO during graduate school at Clemson University where I
was encouraged to attend my first annual conference in Savannah, Georgia.
This experience shaped my desire to serve the association. At the 2008 annual
conference, I instantly connected with a community of educators dedicated to
cultivating positive learning experiences at their respective campuses. Since my
initial introduction to SEAHO, I continue to experience an association dedicated
to my professional growth, development, and successes.
My affinity for SEAHO has led me to a career based within the SEAHO region where I have served Clemson
University, Savannah College of Art and Design, the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and now North
Carolina State University. At each institution, I have maintained engagement with the association and explored
opportunities to connect with others.
During my first annual conference experience, I attended the New Member Services Committee with the goal
to get involved. This involvement led to facilitating several Newcomers and Graduate Student Welcomes and
supporting the committee to actively transition into the current Marketing and Organizational Promotions
Committee. My additional housing and residence life experiences include:

The importance of communication for this association was highlighted through the creation of this position
and within the current strategic plan. As the globe has responded to the pandemic and with ongoing racial
injustices in the United States, this association's communication needs are elevated. I believe this association's
communications can assist us in sustaining #seahoallyear (SEAHO all year), provide resources, and effectively
connect with the most number of members across multiple platforms.
If elected, I would strive to support SEAHO's own growth, development, and successes. As the Director of
Communications, I would:
* Lead the Website Management Committee, Marketing and Organizational Promotions Committee, and
SEAHO Report Editorial Board to review best practices discovered as the association adapted to meet
members' needs throughout the pandemic.
* Consider short-term and easy adjustments to communications based upon reviewed best practices.
*W
ork to authentically incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion into the association's comprehensive
communications plan.
* Explore how to sustain knowledge and skills in key volunteer communications-related committees and
