COMMITTEE REPORTS
Awards & Recognition Committee
The Awards & Recognition Committee has met twice since our conference in Richmond. We have
a great group of members who will be working over the next several months on several initiatives.
We are always ready to welcome more interested colleagues into the fold, and hope that you will
consider reaching out to be involved.
The committee will, of course, be working on the marketing of, seeking nominations for, reviewing
the materials submitted towards, and selecting the recipients of SEAHO's annual awards. These will
be revealed and awarded at our annual conference in Charleston. This nomination process seems
fairly straightforward, but there is a lot that goes into doing it well, and we can use help to ensure
that this year's SEAHO award recipients are truly representative of the amazing people we have
in our region! This year's awards nominations will run from Wednesday, October 11th
until Sunday,
December 10th
.
The committee will also review applications for the SEAHO conference fee waivers. The deadline for
these applications will also be Sunday, December 10th
. Information about the conference fee waiver
can be found on the SEAHO website - please think about applying for the waiver or professionals
you know who should apply for one of the waivers.
A subcommittee within the Awards & Recognition Committee will also be working to update the
SEAHO website, submission form, and process for reviewing and awarding recipients of both the
SEAHO Legacy fund scholarships and the Dr. Paul & Diane Jahr Endowment. Applications for both of
these endowed scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis, so any SEAHO member can apply at any
time.
Finally, the Committee will be promoting on-going recognition for the great initiatives occurring
and professionals we have working in Housing and Residence Life in the Southeast. We are always
looking for folx who have a passion for recognition to join the committee, and membership is truly
open to anyone. If you feel inclined to participate, please fill out the SEAHO Involvement Form or
send an email to presidentelect@seaho.org. Everyone can have a part in helping to highlight all of
the awesomeness that is contained within SEAHO, what will your role be?

Career & Support Services Committee
Hello SEAHO! First, we want to recognize Zach Johnson who has been selected as the new
placement subcommittee chair and chair elect! The career support services committee works to
provide resume review and mock interview resources, plans SEAHO placement, and provides
professional headshots at the SEAHO Annual conference. You can request a mock interview or
resume review by filling out the form here. If you are looking for a way to be involved and help
support the career development of your peers in the region, reach out to careersupport@seaho.org
