people who want to help others succeed in the work they do and that by participating in the organization I could not only learn but share in a community focused on advancing the work of Housing professionals. I joined my first committee at the 2010 conference and have been serving in some capacity ever since. My formal involvement in SEAHO and other organizations includes the following: * SEAHO Grad Issues & Involvement Committee- 2010-2014 (chair 2013-2014) * SEAHO Program Committee - 2014-2017, 2019-2022 (chair 2021-2022) * SEAHO Professional Development Committee - 2022-Present * 2022 SEAHO Conference Host Committee member * SEAHO Marketing & Communications Task Force member 2019-2020 * SEAHO Engagement Task Force member 2022-Present * SEAHO 2020 Case Study Judge * RELI Participant - 2013 * NHTI Participant -2016 * NASPA Region 1 New Professionals Mentoring Institute (NPMI) Mentor- 2018 * ACUHO-I Program Committee Member - 2020-Present * NCARH Advisor/NCHO Board - 2012-2014 * MAHO Host Committee - 2017 Each of these roles has deepened my commitment to engaging with as many members of our organization as possible. The committees and task forces have helped me learn how our organization works and where we can make changes to be more representative of our membership and more effective in serving our profession. As Director of Committees, I have several goals I would work to achieve during my term. All of them are based on a foundation of member engagement and service to the profession: * Work to help committee chairs align traditional programs to the strategic plan while advocating for resources to implement new ideas * Initiate a plan to increase involvement on committees by association members from small schools, private schools, minority-serving institutions, and community colleges. * Further the creation of transition processes and structure to support committees year to year including working with committee chairs to bring transparency to committee work and committee leadership * Champion programs and involvement opportunities created and implemented by each committee In order to achieve these goals, I know I need to be collaborative with the other members of the executive board and governing council. I will also utilize the work of current and past SEAHO task forces to inform the efforts of our individual committees throughout the year. I have always enjoyed working collaboratively with old friends and new colleagues. I value partnerships and to me, the strength of SEAHO is in the people who serve and their willingness to partner with others to reach all of our member schools. I also believe that my knowledge of the organization's structure will aid me in being a strong advocate for making necessary changes in tackling the challenges our association and the profession as a whole face. I hope you can see through my experiences and my goals not only my deep love and appreciation for SEAHO but also my excitement for doing the work the Director of Committees is called to do on behalf of each of you, the SEAHO members. 15
