immediate support and backing by providing designated meeting space for general connection and reserved
tables during lunch periods in the Exhibit Hall. A good number of brothers broke bread, stopped in for a
meeting, or connected with the Collective one way or another. It was a great opportunity to share with brothers
outside the SEAHO region and provide them with updates and access to the Kingz Collective mission and
direction. What made the Kingz Collective presence at Campus Home Live even more significant and sweeter
is that it occurred in Jackson's hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The vision and hard work that Jackson put
into this was introduced to the profession on a larger scale, a mere mile from where he grew up.
KC: Committing to the Journey Ahead
The goal of the Kingz Collective is to be
an active, sustainable resource for Black
and Brown brothers. This can take many
forms and is contingent on what is needed.
The Kingz Collective Leadership Team
has activated steps to solidify its Board
of Directors to assist and support various
aspects of pursuing target goals, community
reach, and organizational effectiveness.
Additionally, they have been engaged
in further developing their established
Strategic Action Plan and discussing the
implementation of long-term initiatives for
2025 and 2026.
The Kingz Collective aims to be intentional
and have a larger presence at the regional
(within SEAHO) and the international
(within ACUHO-I) organization levels. They
are committed to not only advocating and
making space within the annual conference
environments andexperiences but also
continuing to invest themselves in the
work and expand their footprint so much
that when an organization or department
hires a Black or Brown Man of color, they
will recommend us a key resource for them to be connected with and supported by. As the profession's future
continues to advance in research and results take shape, they plan to be right there at the forefront l as
assessing and addressing needs.
