UPDATES AROUND THE REGION
Alabama
The ALAHO State Meeting is October 10, 2024.
This meeting will be hosted in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Registration will be opening soon.
Florida
Registration Part 1 for LEAP at University of Miami
(October 18-20) is now LIVE! Institutions can
register at https://hrl.studentaffairs.miami.edu/leapconference/
to claim their delegate and advisor
spots by August 30. Each institution is limited to 10
delegates and 2 advisors.
Registration Part 2 (for specific attendee information)
will be open August 26-September 30.
We are finalizing plans for the annual state meeting
and more information will be released early in the
new fiscal year! Mark your calendars for November
6-8 at the Drury Plaza Hotel in Orlando, FL (Disney
Springs area)!
Congratulations to Dr. Shannon Staten of Florida
State University for being named a Parthenon Award
recipient at ACUHO-I's Campus Home LIVE!
Georgia
The Georgia Housing Officers (GHO) will host their
annual conference, " Re-engineering " Housing and
Residence Life, at Georgia Institute of Technology
on October 3-4, 2024. They are drafting a statement
since it is during Rosh Hashanah.
Voting is in progress for GRASS and GHO 2025 bid
submissions.
GHO awarded Trint Benefield, Mercer University, the
RELI Scholarship.

Kentucky
KAHO has been working to begin preparations for
our annual conference in October! Eastern Kentucky
University will be hosting in Richmond. For all those
that are interested in serving on a committee and
helping to plan our annual conference, please reach
out to KAHO president, Sydney Rigdon, to get
matched to a committee. KAHO is also VERY proud
of our two RELI attendees: Jenna Ward and Hailey
Bryan!
Louisiana
Thank you to those who submitted nominations
for the LAHO executive board. We look forward to
reviewing those nominations and moving forward
with next steps.
Holly Proctor, Associate Director for Residence Life
at Tulane University, is our incoming LAHO President.
We are excited to see the upcoming events,
initiatives, and opportunities for LAHO ahead.
We haven't forgotten the Louisiana delegation at
SEAHO, and the ideas/suggestions made. If you are
looking to get more involved with LAHO, please
reach out to me, Quinneka McDonald, at lastaterep@
seaho.org. I'd love to get you connected to LAHO
and our current leadership team. I hope you have
enjoyed your summer and are looking forward to
trainings happening at your institutions. Wishing you

Mississippi
The MAHO Governing Council has met several times
this summer, and is finalizing the selection of our host
site for the MAHO 2024 fall conference. As details
are solidified, we will share those with the state and
add them to our website and social media for
your convenience.
