Located four miles from Syracuse on a scenic 270-acre campus, Onondaga Community College is a comprehensive, two-year college offering 50 associate degrees and one-year certificate programs. Onondaga is the secondlargest undergraduate college in Central New York. Day, evening, and weekend classes are offered at sites located throughout the area, and several associate degrees and certificates are offered entirely online. The College's Regional Higher Education Center gives students the opportunity to earn bachelor's and master's degrees on the Onondaga campus through partnerships with four-year institutions including SUNY Delhi, SUNY Cobleskill, Cazenovia College and Keuka College. Onondaga's main campus includes three all-suite residence halls. The centrally located Gordon Student Center incorporates admission, registration, advisement, counseling, financial aid and other services into one convenient location. The campus boasts more than 20 active student clubs and 15 NJCAA intercollegiate men's and women's teams. The new SRC Arena and Events Center will be a premier facility, hosting major college and community athletic events, the arts, commencement and award ceremonies and other regional opportunities. Construction is underway and the target completion date is late 2011.
Orange County Community College, with campuses in Middletown and Newburgh, offers programs of study leading to several transfer and career degrees. Transfer programs include humanities and social sciences, as well as programs in business administration, accounting, engineering science, computer science, and exercise studies. Our 30 careeroriented degree and certificate programs are in the health professions, business, technologies, human services, and the arts. SUNY Orange also offers an honors program for academically strong students. We are a member of the Hudson Valley Educational Consortium, which provides students with additional degree programs in the areas of emergency management and innovative technologies. Outside of the classroom, students have the opportunity to participate in various clubs and organizations. Intercollegiate sports are available for both men and women, with scholarships offered in baseball (M), basketball (M&W), and softball (W). Many college-sponsored trips for students include Broadway shows and sporting events in New York City. With the support of our caring faculty and staff, our goal is to ensure that every SUNY Orange student has the ability to achieve his/her academic and career goals.
