We extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Ed Mather who passed away on January 27, 2010. IAFP will always have sincere gratitude for his contribution to the Association and the profession. Dr. Mather was awarded the Stange Memorial Award from Iowa State University, where he earned his DVM degree. He received a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Missouri. He was the originator and former director of the Online Master of Science Program in Food Safety at Michigan State University until he retired in September 2008. Dr. Mather had been an IAFP Member since 2002 and received the IAFP Food Safety Innovation Award in 2006.
