Minutes Recording Secretary: Kavita Patil.
Old Business: Neil Bogart, PDG Secretary,
opened with the Anti-Trust Guidelines. We then went
around the room and did introductions of all attending
members. Roughly 40-50% of the attendees to the
meeting are new to the PDG. The 2022 minutes were
approved by Rick Heiman and seconded by Lone
Jesperson.
New Business: Mark Carter, the IAFP Board
Liaison, shared key highlights of the IAFP app and
encouraged everyone to join the Mentor program.
Kavita Patil, the Student Liaison, provided an update
on the social and learning events organized by the
Student PDG during the 2022-2023 period. These
events included the updates from the events " Meet
Your Favorite Food Scientist, " the " 3-Minute Thesis "
competition (3MT), and " Proposal Submissions. "
* During the meeting, industry updates
were also discussed. John Allan addressed the
dairy industry and highlighted the collaboration
between the FRI to help delineate cheese
based on intrinsic risk factors.
1. Goal - Application of FDA advocational
recordkeeping requirements for truly higher-risk
cheese only.
