DOCTOR OF DENTAL SURGERY

DR. CAROL MORROW
Access to care is the impassioned mission of
DDS Class of 2006 graduate, Dr. Carol Morrow.
She joined her father in practice at "Walsh
Dental Clinic" in the rural community of Walsh,
Colorado after graduating from the CU School
of Dental Medicine in 2006. Recently, she
started seeing patients in the Springfield Dental
Clinic located near the Kansas border. Morrow
said, "The day I began practicing, I made it my
personal mission to treat every patient who
came into my office the same."
After more than a decade and three
successful dental practices later, Morrow
says the early spark for giving back to the
community happened during her time at CU
Dental. Experiences with ASDA community
outreach activities and rotations in specialty
clinics providing care for elderly, pediatric and
special needs patients inspired Morrow to help
underserved people and communities. "Those
experiences really reinforced the idea that I
wanted to take care of people who don't have
access to dental care," Morrow said.

"I received a great education and was
extremely prepared to be out here. I felt lucky
to be part of CU Dental and to work with
instructors who helped foster me. I had such
great mentors who were extremely supportive
of me and everything I wanted. ACTS rotations
were phenomenal."
Last February, Morrow launched a new
project to provide care for children to make a
bigger impact in her community. Morrow and
her team visited every school in Baca County
to provide free dental exams and prophies for
its students. She plans to make this an annual
event.
"I saw several children who were in pain
and had never been to a dentist. This is not
acceptable to me, nor should it be the norm.
My mission is to help these children thrive
by providing much needed dental care as
conveniently as possible."
In addition to helping the young, Morrow
also enjoys working with older adults. "Nursing
homes are my favorite," she said. "I really
connect with elderly patients."
Last summer, Morrow was elected
president of the Colorado Dental Association
(CDA) and received the unique distinction of
being the youngest person ever to serve as
CDA president and only the second female
president in its 130 year history.
CU Dental is proud of Dr. Carol Morrow
for her groundbreaking roles, community
leadership and her extraordinary passion for
making a difference that she carried with her
from her early days in dental school. ■
