Is This the New Normal?

s restrictions are lifted including
masks, social distancing
and gatherings, the world and
our part of it begin to figure
out what the " new normal " is.
One thing is sure - change is
the standard. We are beginning
to come out of the pandemic stronger, with
renewed energy and a clear focus. Students are
back, and we are hosting an in-person graduation
at the end of May. All signs that after
two years, things are starting to shift back to
pre-pandemic behaviors.
Despite the challenges of the past two years,
there is a lot to be proud of - from our recent US
News & World Report rankings (#23 for MSN, #26
MSN online, #35 DNP and #31 for BSN programs)
to the amazing research and scholarly work being
conducted at the College. We have proven we can

reflect on the remarkable work from all those
at CU College of Nursing, please take a moment
to contemplate the amazing people among us.
In this edition of CU Nursing, discover the
unique partnership between CU Nursing and
Fort Lewis College that brings nursing education
to the Four Corners and how an alumna and
her brother are making that happen; read about
one of the greats in our profession - Marilyn
Krajicek - who after 53 years of championing
children with developmental disabilities and
shaping that area of care is now retiring; and
celebrate the alumni who have been selected as
2022 Alumni Association awardees.
