PRIMLAND RESO SALAMANDER RESORT Sweet Dreams by Joan Tupponce ` Golden Eagle Treehouse, Meadows of Dan About the Writer Joan Tupponce is an awardwinning writer who loves to slip away to one of Virginia's resorts for a little pampering. Her favorite getaways are the Salamander Resort and Spa, The Williamsburg Inn and Keswick Hall. Her stories can also be found in a variety of magazines and newspapers including AmericanWay, "O" magazine and Virginia Living. That's just what happened when I visited the Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg. Located in historic horse country amid lush rolling hills, the resort has an equestrian theme throughout that gives it a very satisfying ambience. I found the color palette to be very warm and inviting even though there is an elegance that can't be denied when you walk through the property. The resort pays homage to nature and our natural surroundings, from the owner's own nature photography on the walls to the lobby that opens to the spectacular countryside. Even a non-equestrian could appreciate the novel amenities - everything from human/horse synergy rides to yoga on horseback that reflect the resort's horse-country theme. Horse owners who board their horses will find the 22-stall stables to be spotless. The luxurious spa at the resort was one of my favorite destinations. It includes 14 treatment rooms - some with private stone treatment terraces - aromatic steam rooms and a secluded spa Virginia.org 51http://www.Virginia.org
