‘Smart’ CTEK Battery Analyzer Ready to Work
CTEK has released its latest battery system accessory, the
CTEK Battery Analyzer. All types of 12 V batteries can be
tested with high accuracy for their condition.
The CTEK Battery Analyzer tests
the condition of 12
V lead-acid batteries
including wet, maintenance free, Ca/
Ca, gel and AGM
styles. The easy
to use, hand-held
device needs only
to be connected to the positive and negative poles of the battery
before following the step by step instructions on the display.
Then, it tests the battery in seconds and provides fast and easy to
understand results on its condition. Four levels indicate the state
of the battery and any action to be taken: Battery Good, Good/
Recharge, Charge & Retest or Replace Battery. The Charge and
Test feature ensures the battery can retain its charge. There is
no need to disconnect the battery from the vehicle to use this
patented technology.
The CTEK Battery Analyzer tests the battery without placing a load on it and is safe for the user and vehicle electronics. It
is also reverse-polarity protected and creates no heat or sparks.
The operating voltage range is 8 to 15 V with a test range of
200 to 1,200 CCA and is accurate to ± 0.1 V. The CTEK Battery
Analyzer comes with a two year limited warranty.
The 8-Station QuadLink Kit Maintains and Desulfates
Up to Eight Lead-Acid Batteries at a Time
For mechanics and fleet equipment managers, as well as individuals and families with a need to charge and maintain multiple
12-volt lead-acid batteries, Xtreme Charge by PulseTech Products Corp. has introduced a kit allowing users to automatically
maintain and desulfate up to eight batteries at a time.
The 8-Station QuadLink Charger Kit (X2-QL4-K2) includes
Dual-Station Xtreme Charge battery charger and desulfator,
QuadLink four-station multipliers, 12 V battery tester, two-foot
battery leads with lugs, two-foot battery lead with clips, fivefoot extension leads and 25-foot extension leads. The kit can
be used to power and maintain everything from autos and light
trucks; vocational, public transportation and emergency vehicles; heavy-duty construction and off-road vehicles; warehouse
equipment as well as long distance semis.
The Xtreme Charge Battery X2 Charger and Desulfator
monitors, charges and maintains all types of 12-volt lead-acid
batteries (VRLA, AGM or flooded batteries). This battery charger makes maintenance and bulk charging simple with proprietary algorithms and microprocessor controlled technology that
measures voltage and current to determine the proper operating
charge. The variable float charge, of this battery charger, improves battery condition by increasing the charge rate safely to
optimal levels and protecting batteries from being overcharged.

The two QuadLinks turn the Xtreme Charge Battery Charger
and Desulfator into an eight-station maintenance charger, automatically splitting and distributing all of the charger’s maintenance capabilities into 10-minute sequencing segments making
remembering to switch battery charger back and forth between
batteries in storage obsolete. Cycle rotation will continue indefinitely without overcharging, maintaining the charge of all four
batteries automatically. For best results, batteries should start
off in a fully charged state.
Turnkey Test System for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
Sakor Technologies, Inc. has released its complete testing
system for hybrid and electric vehicles (HEVs). The system
features one or more AccuDyne AC motoring dynamometers,
a high voltage DC battery simulator, and a DynoLAB PT data
acquisition and control system. The complete turnkey testing
system can be configured
to automate all types of
performance, durability,
and quality control testing,
including complex in-use
and road load simulations for both drivetrain
components and electric
motors and drives. The
testing system has been
used extensively by HEV
manufacturers, including Tesla Motors, UQM Technologies and
Magna Electronics.
AccuDyne dynamometers offer full four-quadrant operation with seamless transition between loading and motoring
modes. The high voltage DC battery simulator provides reliable,
repeatable power independent of battery charge state. Since the
AccuDyne and battery simulator are both fully line-regenerative,
the resulting system can recapture most absorbed power and
is therefore extremely energy efficient. This feature reduces
overall system operating costs. The system is fully automated
by Sakor’s DynoLAB PT control system, which offers complete automation of all types of test cycles used in performance,
durability and quality control testing. The system can also test
high-voltage batteries typically used in HEVs. The testing can
include standard charge/discharge cycles, as well as road-load
profiles representative of what the battery would see in an actual
vehicle under real world road conditions.
No Cords, No Outlets, No Electricity
Spectrum Brands Holdings, Inc. has announced that its
Rayovac battery division has launched a new line of portable
charging products. The Rayovac 2-Hour Power mobile charging
device has a shelf life of 10 years, and provides instant power
to Apple and Micro USB mobile devices. Other new products
released are the 7-Hour Back-Up Power Pack, the Phone Boost
Keychain Charger and portable USB Car and Wall Chargers.
All of the products in Rayovac’s new line feature compact designs, making each device small enough for storage in
