Enclosures CPI Introduces Zone 4 Seismic Cabinet with 1,500 lb Seismic Load Rating The Z4-series Seismic Frame cabinet system from Chatsworth Products (CPI) is a full-featured, robust cabinet designed to protect and store server and network equipment in seismically active areas. The Z4-series not only withstood the stringent shaker tests required by Telcordia Technologies GR-63-CORE, but did so with a 1,500 lbs. equipment load, proving the cabinet's ability to protect equipment in the most severe seismic event. Additional features for the cabinet include a 100 lbs. top load for cabling per GR-63-CORE testing, UL listed for 3,000 lbs. static payload and multiple size options from 47.2 inch deep models and narrow width options for deeper equipment. A reduced frame profile eliminates the need for extra bracing along the side of the cabinet, which can interfere with airflow, cable and power management. Factory-installed transport casters provide easy transfer, and recessed leveling feet simplify installation, while thermal and cable management accessories complete the enclosure solution. 6-Slot MicroTCA.4 Chassis Features High Performance Density in 2U Height VadaTech now offers a 2U chassis platform that complies to the MicroTCA.4 specification for high energy physics and other applications requiring rear IO. The rear IO capability is an attractive option in many Mil/Aero, physics, broadcast, energy and network security designs. The VT814 is the 2nd in the series of VadaTech's horizontalmount MicroTCA.4 chassis. The 2U chassis has six double module AMC slots and corresponding Rear Transition Modules (RTMs), an MCH slot, and redundant power supplies. The chassis accepts up to two of VadaTech's 500 W AC power supplies (UTC017) or 796 W (UTC013). Other standard PSUs in the double module/full-size can be utilized. The 40GbE-capable backplane equalizes clock delays across the AMC slots, minimizing the requirement for skew correction in high-energy physics applications. The VT814 comes with a Telco Alarm and JTAG Switch Module standard. Canyonwest Cases R Series Case Provides Protection for Sensitive Equipment The 3R3517-14 Mil-Standard case from Canyonwest Cases is designed to protect sensitive contents in the most demanding military and industrial environments. Cases are roto-molded for strength and durability, airtight and waterproof with solid stainless steel latches and hinges that will withstand the most demanding shipping conditions. Cases are molded of (LLDPE) polyethylene impact resistant / UV stabilized material and meet or exceed MIL-STD 810 (resistant to corrosion 20 Winter 2014 * www.ElectronicsProtectionMagazine.com and damage caused by sudden impact) and MIL-C-4150J (water submersible) specifications. Cases are also ATA (Air Transport Association) compliant. The 3R3517-14 case measures 35 by 17 by 14 inches deep ID (inside dimensions) and is available with two interior configurations: custom foam or empty. The 3R3517-14 is the latest addition to the R series line of rotationally molded cases for industrial and military applications. R series cases are available in 22 sizes, with inside dimensions ranging from 19 by 19 by 14 inches to 50 by 30 by 24 inches. Cases are waterproof, dustproof and crushproof. They also have an automatic purge valve and unconditional lifetime guarantee. Some sizes are equipped with wheels and retractable pull-handle. 6-Slot Conduction Cooled OpenVPX Chassis for Rack Mount Development/Deployment Curtiss-Wright Corp.'s Defense Solutions division has introduced a highpower conduction-cooled rack mount OpenVPX chassis designed for use in commercial and military system development applications. The 6-slot Hybricon DT-CC enclosure provides a low slot-count solution for aerospace and defense system developers that require a rack-mounted OpenVPX subsystem for use in lab development, ground fixed and transit case applications. Designed to support modules rated at up to 150 W per slot, the DT-CC features high performance fans and ensures <55°C chassis and 25°C conduction rail temperatures. It is optionally available configured with a Curtiss-Wright Fabric40 Gen 3 OpenVPX backplane rated for 10.3 Gbaud data transfers. Designed to stringent Curtiss-Wright Gen3 Signal Integrity (SI) design rules, Hybricon Fabric40 backplanes exceed VITA 68 VPX compliance channel draft standard guidelines. Curtiss-Wright's proprietary SI methods minimize signal impairments, such as high return loss, crosstalk and mode conversion (patent pending), to deliver reliable SI performance at speeds up to 10.3 Gbaud, resulting in the best performance and lowest risk backplane platform in the industry. Pelican Debuts Roster of Pelican ProGear Phone Cases for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus Pelican Products, Inc. has released its roster of Pelican ProGear Protector and Pelican ProGear Voyager cases for the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. Complementing the broader screen of both iPhone 6 smartphones, the Pelican ProGear Voyager cases are slender and lightweight, built with multiple layers of energy-absorbing materials for 360° protection. Crafted with the same DNA found in Pelican's products, the Pelican ProGear Voyager cases are the first line of defense for safeguarding the smartphone from rugged terrain. Both cases are available in a variety of colors including black, white, green, indigo and purple.
