SSM industrial demagnetizers equipped with LM power modules
are not only suitable for very specific applications, but they are
also interesting where an economical and universal solution is
required for industrial production.
On the other hand, Cestriom offers DS tunnel demagnetizers
which are utilized in continuous industrial production due to the
way the parts are handled. In most cases, continuous demagnetization
is carried out by passing the parts through a tunnel demagnetizer
coil with a constant alternating field and subsequent
distance increase to achieve the needed decaying magnetic
field. Technically, this is done either manually or as usual today,
by a conveyorized demagnetizer. The effects of such DS tunnel
demagnetizers with mains connection 50/60 Hz are limited in
materials with large wall thickness, high coercive field (hardened
steel), and multi-part demagnetization in carriers or as bulk material.
In such cases pulse demagnetization with industrial demagnetizer
machines is far more effective.
Moreover, Cestriom offers stray field demagnetizing devices with
a flux amplifying core usually called " plate " , " tabletop " , or " surface
demagnetizer " . The parts to be treated are demagnetized
over the core by the stray field. Two pole plates are additionally
used to the flux amplifying core in the case of the plate demagnetizer,
which strongly bundles the stray flux in the region of the
pole gap. The surface demagnetizers (without pole plates) used
by Cestriom cover an effective width range between 160 mm and
600 mm.
In addition, the Cestriom MGFE-30 and MGFE-70 portable
devices (pictured on page 27) can demagnetize and magnetize
ferromagnetic tools using different methods:

The MGFE portable devices are
equipped with flexible cables which are
utilized as a coil system for demagnetizing
individual components or entire machines.
The parts to be demagnetized
are wrapped with flexible cables, or the
cable wound into a coil is placed on the
relevant part surfaces. Difficult-to-reach
places can usually be easily reached
due to the flexibility of the cables. The
cables can be coupled to increase the
length and thus the number of turns and
the magnetic field strength " .
The demagnetization of large tool plates
works efficiently by using a precisely
controlled alternating field with high field strength, very low
frequency, and a field volume enveloping the plate. For this purpose,
the tool plates are manually wrapped with flexible cables
and automatically demagnetized with one or more low-frequency
alternating field sequences. Larger openings in the tool plates
can be effectively used with the flexible cables to demagnetize
partial areas with the greatest possible effect (waste/scrap holes,
etc.). The flexibility of the cables allows the plates to be wrapped
in different directions, resulting in multiple flow directions for each
demagnetization. This very significantly increases the effect of
demagnetization.
Finally, with additional strong pulse coils for demagnetization,
tool surfaces can also be demagnetized directly without having to
remove them. Medium and small components can be demagnetized
particularly effectively with tunnel coils of the SSM series.
