Canon USA, Inc. has introduced the VB-M700F fixed IP camera, providing added image quality, built-in video analytics, conformance to the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) interoperability standard and many other features. The Canon VB-M700F camera is able to capture high-resolution picture detail and color in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Equipped with a Genuine Canon 3x Optical zoom lens with a focal length of 2.8 mm to 8.4 mm and 102.5° wide-angle of view, the VB-M700F camera’s 1.3 megapixel CMOS sensor and Canon DIGIC NET image processor enables capture of potentially crucial image detail in low-illumination environments down to 0.018 lux at f/1.2 and 1/8 sec. in color and 0.001 lux at f/1.2 and 1/8 sec. in black and white. Proprietary Canon image-processing features built into the VB-M700F include smart shade control, which automatically adjusts the contrast between bright and dark image areas for optimum detail display, as well as a special night mode that increases sensitivity by removing an IR cut filter and adjusting digital gain. The Canon VB-M700F fixed IP megapixel camera’s DIGIC NET image processor and H.264 Codec delivers both high-quality video and high compression rates, and allows for high-resolution video with low bandwidth utilization and low disk-space usage. This technology provides video datastreaming options that include simultaneous transmission of H.264 and Motion-JPEG in resolutions of 1,280 by 960, 640 by 480 and 320 by 240. Motion-JPEG can also be streamed at 160 by 120. This camera provides on-board video analytics helping security professionals monitor large quantities of video content with moving, abandoned and removed-object detection. The analytics are designed to assist in identifying potentially crucial visual details in the video image along with attempts to tamper with the camera. Users of the camera can also adjust the shape and size of the detection area as well. The VB-M700F fixed megapixel IP camera includes multiple features to help security professionals for almost any situation. Reliability features include a built-in SD memory card slot that allows still images to be saved to an SD/SDHC memory card during network outages. Support for SSL (HTTPS) is included for secure data communication between the camera and monitoring PC’s. Built-in admin tools resident on the web-server eliminate the need for client software installation on a PC. The VB-M700F ships with Canon’s RM Lite Network video and recording doftware, which can view live H.264/JPEG streams and record the JPEG streams from a maximum of four cameras at a maximum of five frames per second.

them from being misplaced. This padlock is built for applications such as securing tank valves, underground utility vaults and chemical containers. The CyberLock system of smart padlocks and programmable keys provides detailed audit reporting of lock openings and key activity. The audit reporting along with email alerts increases accountability and can be valuable when management needs to know who and when someone has accessed an area Stem Innovation, LLC has released the iZON Remote Room Monitor, an app-controlled video camera that enables live streaming of audio and video to an Apple iOS device. iZON easily joins most wireless networks to provide secure remote monitoring via the free Stem:Connect App for iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. iZON can record video and audio, provide motion sensing and even record to a private YouTube account. iZON can be placed on any horizontal surface or mounted to a ceiling. It tilts and swivels easily on its unique magnetic base. Download the free Stem:Connect App, then simply plug iZON in and set it up on a local wireless network. A few simple steps help users to create a secure user account and begin streaming live audio and video.

GE Intelligent Platforms has released the ADEPT3000 miniature rugged automatic video tracker. Designed for the detection, surveillance and tracking of still or moving objects, it is a low cost solution for environments in which size, weight and power are highly constrained. The ADEPT3000 is small (34 mm by 24 mm), light weight (6 grams) and consumes minimal power (~1 W). It is designed to complement the more powerful but less compact ADEPT5000 multi-target video tracker. Whether integrated in air-to-ground, ground-to-ground, ground-to-air or naval electro-optical systems, the improved algorithm at the heart of the ADEPT3000 provides effective detection and tracking of challenging objects in difficult environments. The ADEPT3000 supports standard definition analog video, and once a target has been acquired, the resulting signal is passed to a sophisticated algorithm for track path analysis. Hikvision Digital Technology has made an addition to its analog camera portfolio with the new 650 TVL CCD day/night camera, designated the DS2CC1192P(N)(-A). Although IP-video represents a growing segment in the surveillance industry, analog cameras still occupy a sizable percentage of this overall market. However, the continued commercial success of analog largely rests on the development of new technologies. One such example is higher TVL. Analog resolution is usually measured by TVL, with 540 TVL representing the industry standard. Certain top-shelf manufacturers have developed higher TVL product lines, such as 650TVL, to provide better image quality. This DS-2CC1192P(N)(-A) camera integrates Sony CCD technology to achieve its higher resolution of 650 TVL. This camera also has added sensitivity. A day/night function (0.1 lux at F1.2 with AGC on) allows it to see both highlights and darker areas effectively. Additionally, an IR-cut filter switches on/off to further enhance this sensitivity in B/W mode. This camera comes equipped with wide dynamic range technology and an auto iris with DC/Video drive feature to compensate backlight and deliver added clarity in extreme or contrasting lighting conditions. Additional features also fully supported include digital noise reduction, power synchronization and auto-white balance.

CyberLock electronic access control technology has been incorporated into two smart padlocks, the Hockey Puck and the Bar Bell. The electronic Hockey Puck padlock has a stainless steel body that completely surrounds a stainless steel shackle when closed. Its buried shackle prevents attacks from bolt-cutters. The electronic Bar Bell padlock has a stainless steel core and locking post. It is environmentally sealed with “O” rings to prevent water and dirt from reaching the inner core of the lock. The design of these intelligent padlocks allows them to perform well in wet, corrosive environments. The Hockey Puck has anti-drilling features built into its core and the stainless steel construction makes it resistant to harsh conditions. This padlock is well suited for companies that need to control and track access to containers, entry gates and substations. The Bar Bell has a screw-on waterproof cap and stainless steel locking post. A stainless steel cable tethers the cap and post to the body of the lock to prevent
