M2M & IoT - Products & Services Westell Technologies Introduces the ClearLink UDIT Active DAS RF Conditioner and Management System Cellular Specialties, Inc. (CSI) has released the ClearLink Universal DAS Interface Tray (UDIT). The UDIT joins the ClearLink suite of distributed antenna system (DAS) and small cell products to provide an in-building wireless solution. The ClearLink UDIT is an active radio frequency (RF) DAS conditioner and management system that optimizes signal performance between a small cell or high power base station transceiver (BTS) and a DAS. The UDIT is technology neutral (LTE, CDMA, GSM, EVDO, etc.) and provides signal conditioning and remote monitoring and control for single service provider, neutral host and multicarrier systems. The ClearLink UDIT provides remote monitoring of DAS alarms, RF parameters and configurations via a webbased graphical user interface (GUI). "In-building wireless deployments are growing rapidly as mobile device users demand quality and reliable services inside large venues such as office buildings, airports and stadiums," said Scott Goodrich, president, Cellular Specialties, Inc. "The introduction of the ClearLink UDIT solution allows wireless service providers and integrators active monitoring of their DAS and small cell networks with the ability to troubleshoot problems remotely, significantly reducing site visits and ultimately, overall operating costs." XpertRule Releases M2M Remote Monitoring Solution XpertRule has developed a Cloud based M2M solution for monitoring the condition of remote industrial plant and equipment with an intelligent Mobile user interface running as an App on iOS or Android. The solution utilizes the XpertRule Decision and Analytics Engine running 24/7 on a Cloud server to monitor incoming data from site based measurements and automatically alerts site personnel and/or a remote technical support team in the event of patterns in the data indicating a developing equipment problem. The patterns are based on rules derived from the knowledge and experience of technical experts combined with the use of predictive analytics based on rules or models derived from historic records of operating data An intelligent user interface, running as an App on iOS or Android and developed using the XpertRule mobile app deployment technology, provides real time displays and guided workflows for diagnosing and troubleshooting the root cause of equipment problems. The solution enables equipment manufacturers and operators to provide improved support to end users of industrial plant by minimizing the impact of equipment failures on production through earlier detection and resolution of any problems before they impact plant operations and results in fewer site visits as many problems can be solved remotely. It can be easily applied to new equipment or retrofitted to an existing installation. Ventev Wireless Infrastructure Releases GE MDS Orbit Deployment Kit Ventev Wireless Infrastructure has released the Ventev Deployment Kit for the GE MDS Orbit Platform. The factory-direct deployment kit includes all of the components needed to deploy, power and protect the GE MDS Orbit Platform, allowing industrial SCADA, wireless backhaul, and broadband communications users to quickly deploy the Orbit and virtually eliminate installation errors. The MDS Orbit Platform is GE's next-generation wireless communi20 www.RemoteMagazine.com cations solution that integrates cellular, private, licensed and unlicensed networks in one device, delivering secure communication between field crews and industrial equipment, and bringing valuable asset and operational data from the field to the operations center. Ventev's Deployment Kit contains fully integrated, plug-andplay enclosures, batteries, cabling, mounts, antennas for the public cellular networks, lightning arrestors, grounding protection and weatherproofing components. The deployment kit can be ordered in three variations: LTE and Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi only, or LTE only. For convenience, the MDS Orbit platform can be purchased through TESSCO Technologies, and factory-installed into the Deployment Kit prior to delivery. ABB Introduces Tropos 1410-DIN Wireless Bridge and Mesh Router ABB Tropos Wireless Communication Systems has released the Tropos 1410-DIN industrial automation wireless bridge and mesh router. The Tropos 1410DIN is a version of the Tropos 1410 that is suitable for installation in a variety of process control, energy and industrial automation systems. It can be installed in enclosures using standard DIN rail mounting. The Tropos 1410-DIN extends the functionality of Tropos mesh networks to devices where installation of standalone Tropos routers is impractical. Tropos mesh networks deliver secure, low latency, broadband wireless connectivity for M2M communications. The Tropos 1410-DIN enables automation devices to access Tropos networks without the need for external, pole-mounted equipment. The Tropos 1410-DIN can be installed in devices such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), remote terminal units (RTUs), electrical distribution relay cabinets and pad-mounted transformers. The Tropos 1410-DIN enables automation devices to communicate with other devices and with central computing applications such as SCADA systems. It also allows workers with Wi-Fi equipped laptops or tablets to communicate with automation devices wirelessly, rather than having to be close enough to the device to plug into it with a cable. The Tropos 1410-DIN is designed to mount on an industry standard Top Hat EN 50022 DIN rail. It can be mounted in two different orientations providing design freedom for the integrator. Its DIN rail clips are removable, allowing the unit to be surface mounted. The Tropos 1410-DIN is Class I, Division 2 (US) and Class I, Zone 2 (US and Canada) certified. It can be used in hazardous locations when installed in a certified enclosure. The Tropos 1410-DIN wireless bridge and mesh router features one 2.4 GHz radio. It also supports wired Ethernet and serial interfaces as well as protocol conversion for DNP3 and Modbus. The Tropos 1410-DIN will initially be available in FCC and ETSI versions. Flow-Cal Releases FLOWcloud Hosting Solution Flow-Cal, Inc. has released the FLOWcloud hosting solution. FlowCal's clients have the option to use the advanced suite of liquid and gas measurement applications without being tasked with maintaining the supporting hardware and infrastructure. With FLOWcloud, users have the power to access Flow-Cal applications on demand through a web interface. As a SaaS provider, Flow-Cal's IT staff provides remote managed services (RMS) to support the hosted application. RMS provides system monitoring, administration, reconfiguration, upgrades and updates as well as log file reviews and patch installations. With FLOWcloud, the application is hosted in a secure environment with backups completed daily. Flow-Cal first offered application hosting to a client in 2012. Since then, there has been increased demand for the service, even before FLOWcloud was released officially to the public. As technology and the industry shifts to a more cloud-based platform, Flow-Cal anticipates their adoption of the SaaS model will prove valuable in the future of their applications. http://www.RemoteMagazine.com
