Introducing Radiocm Research’s Embedded USB WiFi Modules
The Radicom Research WiFiHU series is a secure WiFi module that easily adds WiFi connectivity to virtually any processor-based device. The module is IEEE802.11 b/g/n™ compatible with a USB2.0 interface. With reliable transmissions, protocol stack and use of 1TX/2RX MIMO antenna technology, this USB wireless device can achieve overthe-air data throughput of up to 300Mbps downstream and 150Mbps upstream PHY rates using 40MHz bandwidth. Measuring just 1” x 1.1” x 0.25”, the WiFiHU features -40°C to +85°C operating temperature. It protects the host with WEP/WPA/WPA2 compliant security protocols. The firmware and configuration parameters are stored in on-board NVRAM. The WiFiHU family supports Windows 2K, XP, Win7, Vista and Linux OS with kernels 2.4 and 2.6. There are two models available, WiFiHU-a and WiFiHU-c. The WiFiHU-a has Dual Chip Antenna built-in eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming RF development and shortens time to market. The WiFiHU-c has two U.FL connectors for attaching antenna cables and antennas allowing flexibility to place antennas at desired locations. The WiFiHU is pin and form compatible with Radicom’s Half-InchTM USB Dial-up modems, allowing customers to easily offer dual functions (PSTN & WiFi) options.
