USA: StreamGuys, a pioneering
content delivery network and
streaming media provider, is bringing a new transcoding platform to
broadcasters that specifically focuses on efficient and proper audio
output across multiple devices.
StreamGuys says the new Audio
Transcoding SaaS outperforms
transcoding systems that lack
compatibility with multiple audio
formats; or de-emphasise the significance of audio transcoding in
the video stream.
The service was born out of a
need to implement better compatibility with iTunes Radio for many
StreamGuys customers.

NUGEN Reaches
True Peak Trio

GBR: NUGEN Audio has launched
three new versions of its ISL 2 true
peak limiter.
The new versions include: ISL
2st and ISL 2st DSP, for music
production and other applications
that require only mono or stereo
content, and ISL 2 DSP to boost
system power and streamline
workflows for Avid Pro Tools HDX
users requiring full 5.1 and 7.1
functionality.
NUGEN says these were developed
in response the requirement to
deliver content compliant with
loudness normalisation.

Bundle Deals

USA: Avid has introduced new
subscription bundles for customers
who purchase Pro Tools | Duet or
Pro Tools | Quartet.
They can now choose between bundles that come with either a oneyear subscription or a perpetual
license, and both of these bundles
include Avid plug-ins, including
one Tier 2 and one Tier 3 premium
plug-in.
This, Avid says, gives artists and
music creators, cutting-edge tools
that are accessible in more flexible
ways.

White Mark Helps Factory
Install Two New Studios

n response to a significant increase
in business, award winning sound
design and audio facility Factory has
expanded its offering to incorporate
two new audio studios, including one
of the first Dolby Atmos certified mix
rooms for Commercials & Trailers.
Acoustic consultancy White Mark Ltd
was called in to handle the design of
both rooms on the basis of Factory's
previous good experience with the
company. This is the fourth time the
consultancy has undertaken work for
Factory.
Established in 1997, the Soho-based
Factory Family Group offers audio and
visual production services to the film,
television, radio, advertising and music
industries.

The Group comprises
four divisions: Factory,
which offers sound
design and audio
facilities;
Siren,
which offers music
composition
and
supervision; Texture,
handling design and
video production, and
Honey, which provides
voice
production
and audio project
management services.
The studio that was originally on
the fourth floor of Margaret Street
has been refurbished into a much
bigger space and renamed Studio 5.
It is designed for 5.1 Surround Sound

Thomson Partners With Dolby
Labs And STMicroelectronics

and STMicroelectronics (ST) to
demonstrate the first implementation
of a complete encoding-decoding chain
for HD and Ultra HD broadcast based
on the new Dolby AC-4 audio codec.
At the heart of a demonstration
at the Dolby ATSC 3.0 showcase
in Atlanta sits Thomson Video

award-winning
ViBE
VS7000 multi-screen encoding/
transcoding platform and the ST
Ultra HD STiH418 System-onChip (SoC).
