Canon Have
The X Factor
GBR: HotCam has supplied pro
camera and broadcast sound
equipment for The X Factor
auditions in the UK.
A range of Canon glass is used,
including the XJ86 box lens, the
HJ40, HJ22 and HJ14 broadcast
lenses and the CN7x17 KAS S E1/
P1 Cine lens. Also being used are
a number of L Series EF mount
lenses.
Canon EOS C300 cine cameras
shoot the contestant interviews
while EOS 5D and 7D cameras
provide B-roll and time-lapse
footage.

Rugby World Cup
Quicklink Success
GBR / RSA: This year, eNCA (eNews
Channel Africa) covered the Rugby
2015 World Cup, broadcasting live
from the UK to their South African
audience.
The eNCA crew have been using
the Quicklink Midi Backpack, a
portable uplink transmission
system, to send live interviews
from both team players and fans
back to their studio in Cape Town.
The broadcast involved reporting
live before, during and after the
Wales vs South Africa quarter final
match.

Trimaran GeoRacing
Boosts Canal+ WRC
FRA: Canal+ recently used
Trimaran's GeoRacing GPS tracking
and visualisation system to
improve live television coverage
of the Tour de Corse 2015, the FIA
World Rally Championship held on
the island of Corsica.
Through a combination of GPS
data and advanced technologies
such as virtual timing and ghost
visualisation, the solution allowed
Canal+ to track the race in realtime and better visualise its
progression.

partnered with TVU to deploy

Charlotte, North Carolina-based team.
The Panthers deployed TVUPack to

conferences and interviews, as part
their weekly Game Day wrap-up show.
