Deploys Forscene
USA / GBR: U.S.-based Leftfield
Entertainment has chosen to
deploy Forbidden Forscene across
its group of production companies
to provide a flexible and efficient
post-production solution.
The purchase comes after the
cloud-based
post-production
platform was tested on the series
Football Town.
Forscene provided remote access
to media, allowing producers in
the field to collaborate with the
post-production team back at base,
expediting media processing and
ingest as well as transcription.

LUCID OVP
Powers Up

video platform (OVP), providing
customers with everything they
need to set up their own online
video offering.
The platform combining Linear
TV Streaming, Catch-up TV and
Video-on-Demand (VoD) into one

players to set up their own video
business, from setting up an Online
TV channel to on-demand services.

'Programmatic'
Living Room
USA: TubeMogul's report The
Programmatic Living Room notes
that the 'living room' extends
beyond the TV screen and can be
found wherever viewers watch
television - on computers, tablets
and phones. The TubeMogul
research team found that while
Linear TV remains relevant and
important it is a shrinking portion
of consumers' media experience.
This year, 56% of Americans will
stream digital content to their TV
set, offering advertisers additional
channels to access in the living
room.

Entel Bolivia Deploys
Harmonic Encoders

elecommunications operator Entel
Bolivia has deployed an integrated
headend solution from Harmonic to
power its direct-broadcast satellite
(DBS) service.
Using
Harmonic's
high-density,
scalable video infrastructure solutions,
Entel Bolivia can now deliver 124 SD
MPEG-4 AVC, 20 HD MPEG-4 AVC, and
30 radio channels with high bandwidth
efficiency.
The Harmonic solutions allow Entel
Bolivia to offer additional services,
with improved video quality, while
lowering operating expenses and

providing a seamless migration path
toward IPTV delivery.
"To be the most competitive
telecommunications
operator
in
Bolivia, we needed to provide viewers
with superior video quality and a
wider range of services. We decided
that deploying an MPEG-4 DBS system
with a redundant teleport would be
the most affordable way to offer this
type of experience," said Emilio Evia,
National Projects Manager at Entel
Bolivia.
Entel Bolivia is using Harmonic's
market-leading Electra encoders for

high-quality, low-bandwidth MPEG4 AVC encoding and DiviTrackIP
statistical multiplexing of SD and HD
video content. Leveraging the ultradense, high-performance encoders
- which support up to eight HD output
services per chassis - the operator
has freed up bandwidth for additional
service offerings.
The Electra encoders include a
primary and secondary output,
increasing operational efficiency while
driving down CAPEX.
The encoders' "pay-as-you-grow"
approach to scalability will enable
Entel Bolivia to easily
upgrade SD channels to
HD via licensing.

The ability to integrate such a
diverse range of products into a
centralised and manufacturer agnostic
control plane speeds up operational
workflows and allows for more time to
be spent on content production.
