STUDENT HANDOUT give back: what alumni can do When you graduate in June, you will become an alumnus of your high school. A big part of being a responsible alumnus is giving back to your high school community by serving as a role model to future graduates and underclassmen. Ways to Give Back Alumni and soon-to-be graduates can infl uence the younger students in their school communities in many ways. Think about how you could: ● Be a role model by making good decisions every day. ● Tutor, coach, or mentor someone through the college application process. ● Host an event or program that could teach younger students about the graduation or college application process. ● Share your story through a panel, a one-on-one discussion. ● Create a resource such as a book or hand-out about applying to college, fi nancial aid, or some other topic.
