In this issue...
Finding a good match is definitely a good find.
Whether it be a spouse, a physician, a barber
or hair stylist, finding someone who understands you and has your complete trust is a
relished relationship.
When homeowners Chris and Mike first
hooked up with David White, owner of the
family-run Neffsville-based business Kitchen
Encounters, they both felt an immediate connection. During the course of their kitchen
restoration project, that initial impression was
not only validated, it completely eliminated
any need or desire to consider other contractors for their future home improvement
plans. In David and his Kitchen Encounters
team, they found a passionate designer with
whom they developed a unique creative synergy along with a team of craftsmen that did
impeccable work. And like a good find, they
weren't letting go.

Today's Dream...Tomorrow's Reality

What followed, as you'll see in our cover story
starting on page 24, was a series of other projects that included remodeling the home's
three bathrooms, as well as a living room
project to correct an unsafe banister and railing. And like the kitchen, these projects had
stunningly-beautiful results.
The Feature article in this edition is a piece
that reviews a local family's decision to
address their need for more living space by
staying put and adding on to their existing
home. As you'll see, the project also included
a renovation plan of existing space that dramatically improved functionality as well the
home's appearance.
Our Ask the Experts panel once again provides
some very helpful advice. Topics this time
include: planning and navigating project costs
and material availability during uncertain
times; shopping advice for vintage building materials such as barnwood and rustic
hardware; and an introduction to the many
benefits of epoxy floor coverings.
Lastly, in The Gallery, we have three very
attractive spreads including an assortment
of home makeover projects, a spread of
awning and canopy applications, as well as a
showcase of before and after kitchen and bath
projects.
For those who will be taking on a home
improvement project in the future, I hope
this magazine has provided some guidance
as well as inspiration. I also hope you find
