Core Values

Core values are principles that guide a company's actions that
consider the organization's culture. After a recent evaluation,
Samaritan has come up with the RIGHT core values for the
center. Respect, integrity, growth, hope, and trust are the five
core values that guide the thoughts and actions of Samaritan
Counseling Center. As the Director and Clinical Director of
TeenHope, it is my responsibility to ensure these core values are
at the heart of what we do in the program and in the community.
It is our intention that every interaction with a school, student,
family, and the general community reflects the Center's five
core values. In TeenHope, we believe that building trust with schools, students and
community members comes from interactions that hold three of the five core values,
hope, growth, and respect. We believe that every person has value and every person has
a purpose. To practice what we preach, each staff member in Samaritan and TeenHope
has a personal responsibility to live with integrity in their daily lives.
Shifting into a new year and looking into the core values requires evaluation and
reflection from the Center as a whole and from each individual that works here. Time
continues to move forward, politics and religion continue to be at the heart of many
conversations, and mental health issues continue to be a major topic of discussion
and concern. Our youth are struggling and so are many others within our community
and nation. We have a unique opportunity as Samaritan employees to reflect on the
Center's core values and decide how we want to use them at each moment. In my time
with the Center, I have found a genuine intention from Samaritan staff to use the
core values in each interaction. Each staff member chooses to be the best version of
themselves for the clients, coworkers and community members. When we live a life
of purpose and value, we spread a little more light to the world around us. I am proud
to be a part of an organization where evaluation and reflection are part of the growth
process with wonderful coworkers that live with authentic integrity.

we are not meant to be prefect. Good things
happen when we show love for one another,
mistakes and all, exactly as we are, with what
gifts we have to give - because we are meant
to be in a loving community TOGETHER.
