2020/2021 SAE TEXTBOOK
STIPEND WINNER CHOSEN
Congratulations to Dylan Konop, senior
studying mechanical engineering at Bradley
University, for becoming the first winner of
the SAE Textbook Stipend. He was awarded
$1,000 to put towards textbooks for this
coming school year. All student applicants
had to meet certain requirements, like a
minimum GPA, be a current SAE Student
Member, as well as write an essay on how
membership has and will benefit them. Then
four SAE Professional Members volunteered
to judge each essay, and the decision was
unanimous for this year. The 2021/2022
application will be opening this Fall in
Member Connection., so be sure to check back in periodically
for announcements. Again, congratulations, Dylan!

Collegiate Chapters. If you have a Collegiate Design Series Team
(Formula, Baja, Aero Design, etc), this does not guarantee that
you have a chapter. Not sure if you have a chapter? Don't have
one formed yet? Reach out to Abby Hartman, abby.hartman@
sae.org to get started.
MOMENTUM
A graduate of Kettering University, Olivia Wanless (second from left) is now
a manufacturing controls engineer at Nexteer Automotive. Here she poses
in 2019 with others involved in the SAE-GM AutoDrive Challenge at Mcity in
Ann Arbor, Mich., including her nominator for the Rumbaugh Award, Diane
Peters, PhD (far left).
If you are a leader of your SAE Chapter, captain of your Formula

Outstanding Student Leader Award. Students must be either
graduating soon or already recently graduated and must
demonstrate leadership in and support of SAE and its activities.
The recipient will receive a framed medal, a $750 honorarium,
