MEMBER NEWS DOSSIER: David Amirehteshami of The Boeing Company The Amirehteshami family enjoying the beach in southern California. Empennage and defined the build plan for the first composite primary structure in Boeing Commercial Airplanes. It was our first digitally defined airplane using CATIA. It also involved start-up of the Composite Manufacturing Center, a state-of-the-art composite fabrication and assembly facility in Frederickson, Wash. I was on the program from program launch in 1990 to delivery of the product to final assembly in Everett, Wash., in 1994. I also had the privilege of leading the Boeing Research and Technology Assembly and Automation lab at CSULB campus (California State University Long Beach). 16 February 2021 This is a unique arrangement in which Boeing employees and CSULB engineering students work together on a daily basis to develop assembly and automation processes and equipment. Based on the success, I initiated the same arrangement with the University of Washington Boeing Advanced Research Center (BARC). In what way is SAE helpful to you?
