Dr. Steve Przesmitzki
CITATION: Dr. Przesmitzki
is recognized for
distinguished leadership
and contributions in
automotive fuel and
lubricant technologies.
This includes leadership
which provided foundational data used to
introduce 15% ethanol into the marketplace
and seminal research on understanding fuel
carbon intensity.
COMMENT: " It is a great honor to be
recognized as fellow by my peers. I couldn't
have even imagined such an award when I
took my first automotive job 30 years ago. I
owe thanks to many people throughout the
years for their mentorship and support.
SAE also played a significant role in much
of my success. "

Dr. Sibendu Som
CITATION: Dr. Som has
pioneered the
implementation of
machine learning tools,
high-performance

predictive two-phase and reacting flow
models, for high-fidelity simulations of
combustion systems, which are now used
by industry for dramatically reducing
product design time. 
COMMENT: " I was honored to be nominated
and really happy to become a fellow. This is
indeed the most prestigious honor that I
have received. "

Dr. Richard Stone
CITATION: Professor
Richard Stone is author of
the seminal book
" Introduction to Internal
Combustion Engines, "
now in its fourth edition.
He is globally recognized
for over 25 years of groundbreaking work
on SI engine combustion, particulate
emissions, laser diagnostics and in-cylinder
flow visualization; often collaborating with
major automotive and fuel companies.
COMMENT: " It was a great honor to be
elected a Fellow of SAE, and not one I was
expecting. SAE is truly international in its
outlook and attending SAE Congress has
always been a fantastic way of keeping in
touch with colleagues from around the
world and indeed my colleagues from the
UK. SAE publications have been an
important part of my career and that will
continue. " n
