Synthetic fuel compatible
filters
MANN+HUMMEL (Ludwigsburg,
Germany) now offers a line of filters for
commercial vehicles that are compatible
with synthetic fuels. The company
explained that a separate line of filters
for vehicles using these fuels was necessary
due to the aggressive degradation
they can inflict on elastomer seals
and their potential to leach plasticizers
from the fuel filter sealing ring. As a

Mack Trucks (Greensboro, North
Carolina) announced that the Mack
mDRIVE automated manual transmission
now features left and right dual Power
Takeoff (PTO) options. The company
states that the left and right dual PTO
allows operators to run hydraulic pump
equipment on both sides of the vehicle,
improving the ease of use on jobsites
and maximizing flexibility for applicaof
its volume. The company states that
the seal materials in fuel filters for synthetic
fuels are ideally suited for the
application. They reportedly have been
tested to meet DIN EN 15940 and have
gained relevant OE approvals to ensure
a permanent hold and a complete seal
of the filter.
