What's New
Celebrating Mentor Month 2022
January is Mentor Month, and we want to
celebrate all of our mentors and mentees!
You can join us for our next Mentor Mixer
January 25-26 where we'll talk about fear
of public speaking (watch the Career
Counselor episode 1 and episode 2 to get
started). The online discussion will be
taking place in the Open Forum of
Member Connection. Then, you can join
the mentor hosts during a live Webex on
January 25 from 1-2 pm to ask your
questions or share your own experiences.
Be sure to register here.
And you can sign up to become a
mentor and/or mentee in the new SAE
Mentor Program, which will be able to
match you to a mentor best suited for you,
based on your goals and interests. Then
you can walk through the guided program,
which will provide suggestions to get the
most out of your mentor relationship, or
you can go at your own pace. Learn more

Historic Chats with the Experts
If you missed a past Chat with the Expert,
you can check them out here. We have
had many technical discussions led by
SAE member volunteers to talk about a
wide array of topics, such as
electrification and automated and
connected technologies. We also
UPDATE
expanded the series to discuss DEI
(diversity, equity, and inclusion) in the
workplace, women in the industry, and
workforce development. We look forward
to hosting many
more Chats and read
your contributions to
the discussions. Be
sure to look for
information on our
next Chat during
Engineers Week 2022
in February!
The most recent
Alba Colon
chat was held
December 8-9 on the
topic of " resume and
career. " A number of
SAE members and
volunteers served as
the experts. Among
them was one of SAE's greatest
volunteers, Alba Colon. One [piece of
advice she offered was: " Don't be afraid to
fail and NEVER GIVE UP!! There will be
difficult times, but it is about how you
navigate them that will set you apart!!
