In his more than 17 years as
a member of SAE
International, Jay Zhou,
Ph.D., has accomplished
quite a bit. Throughout his career, Zhou
has the opportunity to interface with
industry leaders as one himself. During his
professional journey, Zhou worked with the
Ford Motor Company for 28 years where
he ascended to Vice President of China
and Asia Pacific Quality and New Model
Programs, growing a professional network
through his SAE International connections,
and eventually becoming a mentor to
young professionals-and that all started
with an SAE mentor of his own.
" As a mentee, the most valuable
mentoring connection is growing my
professional network and developing my
leadership skills, " Zhou said. " As a mentor,
the most meaningful connection is
developing my feedback and critical
thinking skills. The SAE Mentorship
Program is a very innovative platform that

Zhou has served as associate editor of
the SAE Journal of Materials and
Manufacturing for 10 years.

Chat with the Expert: Women in
Aerospace March 29 - 30
March is Women's Month, and we are
highlighting a few outstanding SAE
Women. We will also be hosting a Chat in
Member Connection to combine
Women's Month Aerotech 2022. Weigh in
on the lates technology and innovations in
the aerospace industry, as well as your
experiences as a woman in the industry, or
your experiences working with women.
You will also have the opportunity to speak
with the experts during the live session via

Seeking Professional Members for
Collegiate Speaker program
SAE is looking for speakers for the
Industrial Lecture Program - this program
allow SAE Student Members to request a
presentation on something outside of their
classroom learning, whether it's on project
management skills or vehicle dynamic
testing, or how to leverage their SAE
Membership beyond college and into their
careers. As a speaker, you will come up
with the topic and create a presentation.
And as you have time in your schedule, you
will present to requesting universities.
